Rethinking MINOCA: from “infarction” to “myocardial injury”

The new definition describes MINOCA as “myocardial injury”. The term represents a working diagnosis that requires further differentiation, as only some patients have an underlying coronary cause. Further diagnostic assessment—particularly using CMR—is therefore crucial for identifying the exact cause and initiating the appropriate treatment.
